Inspirations: Audio talks and recommended reading

Audio Talks

These websites offer free audio downloads of talks given by leading yoga and dharma teachers. These talks feed my practice daily, providing essential encouragement and insight. – Tias Little’s dharma talks integrate teachings, poetry, and metaphor from an array of sources. These talks are my mainstay and I return to them continually. They remind of the scope of the wisdom teachings and the brilliance creativity and humor add to their transmission. – This site offers hundreds of free talks given by Theravadan Buddhist teachers worldwide. All talks given at Spirit Rock Meditation Center are available here. – Michael Stone is a psychotherapist, yoga teacher, Buddhist teacher, author and activist, committed to the integration of traditional teachings with contemporary psychological and philosophical understanding. He founded Center of Gravity in Toronto which is a Buddhist center committed to practice and sangha within urban life. His talks and yogic teachings are very direct and challenge me to examine the integrity of my life, practice, and teaching (if these can be separated). –  Richard Freeman has been a student of yoga since 1968. Richard’s background includes studying Sufism in Iran, Zen and Vipassana Buddhist practice, Bhakti and traditional Hatha yoga in India. Starting in 1974 he also began an in-depth study of Iyengar yoga, which eventually led him to Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. Richard’s talks are unparalleled, in my opinion, in term of his depth of insight into the yoga philosophy, not to mention his poetic voice and humor.
