Prajna Yoga

“The word Prajna in Sanskrit means Insight, Deep Understanding and Wisdom. It suggests an embodied wisdom, a knowing that permeates the nerve endings, the connective tissues and the blood cells throughout the body.”
Tias Little and his wife Surya are the founders of Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe New Mexico. Tias’s teachings include a background in Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga, as well as Buddhist meditation, and the Zen training. He draws from his experience in somatics, massage therapy, cranial-sacral therapy, and anatomy training, as well as a deep understanding of Eastern philosophy.
His leadership has inspired me because of it’s breadth and his ability to weave together all the aspects of the yogic training- bringing the practice to life. He is also non-dogmatic and encourages students to find their unique voice and approach in practice and teaching. While many programs focus on asana or the physical practice of yoga, Tias emphasizes the wisdom training to develop a deep understanding of all aspects of the yogic process.
To learn more about Tias’s teaching and training schedule please visit his Prajna Yoga¬†website. His site includes his writings and several of his dharma talks are available at no cost. For a taste of the Prajna Yoga experience watch this 5 min video, you will be glad you did!
